The unabashedly liberal candidate Tom Campbell has pulled his video ads. Presumably he was unable to get his money back from the robo-callers so don't be surprised if you get a call or two from his campaign this last week of the campaign. His website will remain up as well. Other than that it's bye-bye to Tom.
This presents both an opportunity and a question for the Chuck DeVore campaign.
The opportunity for Chuck DeVore is Carly Fiorina no longer has liberal Tom Campbell to position herself as a Conservative against. Standing next to Tom, just about anyone looks like a conservative in comparison. Now with the choice between Fiorina and DeVore, Fiorina becomes the unabashedly liberal candidate in comparison.
The question for the DeVore campaign is "Did Campbell's non-departure departure from the campaign come in time?"
Chuck DeVore has a lifetime record on issues. In the internet age one can easily find what his current positions are by going here. Curious about his legislation in the State Assembly? Search here.
Trying to get a specific opinion from Fiorina on the other hand is like pulling teeth. In a question to Fiorina's campaign I stated up front that I wasn't going to accept the usual "...hasn't taken a position on the matter" response from her campaign. I asked Fiorina her position on AB 1934 the Democrat gun ban on open carry in the state of California. I stated that if she gave the typical non-response response I just described then I would report that she supported the Democrat gun ban. Fiorina went ahead and replied "[Fiorina] has not yet taken a position on AB1934."

Didn”t Palin support Fiorina? So she must be as conservative as McCain!
“Didnt Palin support Fiorina? So she must be as conservative as McCain!”
Or, maybe, sisterhood trumps conservatism?
Can we offer Carly a job to quit the race? I heard that’s legal now.
I wish this race was over so we could stop seeing that horrible looking woman on all the threads. Shudder.
I agree.
Chuck DeVore or Carly Fiorina, a sad choice for California conservatives. DeVore may talk middle of the road or a bit to the right now, but when sworn in he will vote the way the Democrat caucus tells him to. Now, Fiorina is what we Republicans call a “moderate” or RINO but she may vote with the Republican caucus about 60% of the time like her sisters from Maine do now. She is a cancer survivor, so if California gets a Republican governor, maybe that governor will have the opportunity to appoint a real Republican if the seat becomes vacant.
Whoa. I take it you haven't been keeping up on CA politics for awhile.
Ignore my post above, wrong guy, I was thinking the guy was the Democrat likely candidate. Stupid me.
