Four Very Beautiful Ugly Americans (almost makes me a fan ... but not quite)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Tuesday, June 01, 2010 | Debra J. Saunders

am rarely accused of being overly sensitive to other cultures, and I've had my share of disagreement with the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Yet even I was offended at the decision to center the plot of "Sex and the City 2" on an all-expenses-paid vacations to Abu Dhabi for New York's famed four best friends. The sequel's racy material was considered so objectionable that the Islamic emirate wouldn't let filmmakers work there, so the crew had to shoot in Morocco.

The setup is just plain irritating. The four iconic New York friends -- 40-something and 50-something Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte -- are supposed to be smart survivors who thrive in a scratch-your-way-to-the-top world. They are too old not to understand the notion of hospitality and the corresponding responsibility of visitors to behave as respectful guests.

They should understand that you don't trot around an Islamic nation flashing leg and baring cleavage with a Cosmo in hand. You don't engage in foreplay in a public restaurant in front of frowning locals. And by the way, the most effective way to show solidarity with one's sisters in the Middle East should not be wearing short shorts at the souk.

I never saw that much of the show and what I did see, I didn't care for too much, but this makes me want them to do very well at the box office this time around.

SATC2 has made $45M so far (more than Prince of Persia which came out at the same time)....not bad for a movie that's been trashed by 99% of the media....

It will do well on video sales and rental...

I can't STAND Sex In the City. Ugh...no wonder our society is so broken down. It's shows/movies like this, no morals....no values...lack of intellect....sex sex sex.

It's sick.

Before the Supreme Court made porn legal, America felt the same way. Now, such is SOP for a FR thread about any female. (You know the rules...Guilty!)

True!!!!

Funny....in the late 80s I worked for a film company owned by a Lebanese family....and my best friend worked for a company owned by Israelis. I can tell you this much.....we both made more working for them than we did at Columbia Pictures AND they both had excellent security...HAHAHA! ;)

Men have ALWAYS liked nekkid girls. It’s just who we are.

What we like to see and what we consider sexy or not has changed over time, but nekkid is nekkid.

;-)

(hope my wife isn’t on this thread...)

Didn’t see the movie; rarely watched the show; never thought the women were particularly beautiful. Mrs. P. Henry has it all over them in a heartbeat.

I confess I never saw the movies nor the tv show. I just know the blond one was the most popular because of her acrobatics and this irked the actress who played the lead.

the series was written by homosexuals.

I think southpark summed up the value of sarah parker. in their “scroty mcbooger...” episode.

SATC2 has made $45M so far (more than Prince of Persia which came out at the same time)....

Domestic gross on SATC2 is currently higher than POP, but its worldwide gross is about $56M less than POP.

Prince of Persia - Box Office Mojo
Sex and the City 2 - Box Office Mojo

Indeed. But these women have not been 'girls' since 1979.
