I think I'll sit this "patriotic" duty out.

I remember when I was on active duty that the AF would have some sort of recognition for each one of these special-interest-group pride months. The base paper would have articles commemorating famous black aviators, Asian-Pacific Islander aviators, Female aviators, and so on. They would schedule recognition dinners at the NCO club with special foods (I remember because all officers and NCOs were "encouraged" to go to these things for a while).

So I was wondering if some of my fellow FReepers who still go on military posts could check the base/post papers to see if they have special editorials this month to see how they are recognizing famous transsexual soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines. Or perhaps they could mention when the Fort _____ LGBT Recognition dinner is this month.

(In case you couldn't detect the facetiousness above, be assured it's in there...although the same comments next year may not be so facetious)

I want to know why there must be special rights for everyone on Earth except white males, especially southern white, protestant, heterosexual, conservative males who still believe in the constitution and have served in the armed forces. Why should we fight discrimination, when it is our very means of survival? We discriminate between poison and food, good people and bad people for our friends, bad areas and good areas of our towns to frequent.
