Washington (CNN) -- President Barack Obama spoke by telephone Tuesday with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to express condolences for the deaths and injuries from Israel's raid on a Turkish ship that was part of a flotilla hauling relief supplies to blockaded Gaza, the White House said.

"The president told Prime Minister Erdogan that the United States is working in close consultation with Israel to help achieve the release of the passengers, including those deceased and wounded, and the ships themselves," according to the White House statement. "He also affirmed the United States position in support of a credible, impartial and transparent investigation of the facts surrounding this tragedy."

A statement posted on the website of the Turkish prime minister's press office said that in the hour-long conversation, Erdogan called the Israeli attack "an unacceptable act that was illegal and against international practices."

America is no longer the leader of the free world. Israel is.

Never in my lifetime nor wildest dreams would I believe that an anti-American leftist with possible ties to radical Islam would become President of the U.S.

It's kind of like science fiction or a far-out political thriller...except that we're living it.

Apparently, the MV Rachel Corrie was the flagship of this particular Turko-Hamas operation.

Shame on the Europeans and our new socialist leaning adminstration. They've discarded many of the lessons learned (paid for in blood) from WWII. Feed the children of God to the angry masses is obviously the new policy.

Erdogan is himself a Muslim extemist who has played an important role in Islamist activity since the early nineteen nineties. In Turkey itself, power has slowly slipped from civilian and military hands to such an extent that the country is no longer a dependable NATO ally. Ironically, as Europe moves to reduce any chance Turkey has to join the European Union, our president plays kissy-face with a dangerous Islamist radical.

The Democratic party, by and large, hate this country and want it to die.

The Democratic party has given us an Indonesian Muslim in the white house, born with British and Kenyan citizenship, who is now at war with 70 percent of the American people. A president who is doing his best to put an end to all freedom and enslave millions.

This president is the most obscene stain on this countries history. We are at a precipice with a Muslim at the helm. The democratic party has openly embraced Jihad and the death of America. America can not survive the democratic party.
