Several hundred people, many from the SEIU, use a three-game series with the Dodgers to voice opposition to Arizona's controversial law.
...The SEIU and the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles bought 100 bleachers seats for Monday night's game, according to SEIU's Hilda Delgado, so they could boo Arizona and turn their backs on the Diamondbacks' first pitch.

Of course, this article doesn't tell you what Dodgers manager Joe Torre said, which I will post in a minute.
Now, for a different, more refreshing report: http://www.brownsvilleherald.com/sports/game-112743-angeles-gather.html
(snip)
Before the game, Dodgers manager Joe Torre said, “A stand against what? Letting this club into town? Talk to the people higher up.”
Arizona’s new law is set to take effect July 29. Police conducting traffic stops or questioning people about possible legal violations must ask about their immigration status if they suspect they are in the country illegally.
“I didn’t know the (Diamondbacks) ballclub voted for it,” Torre said. “Just because they have Arizona (on their jerseys) doesn’t mean that those are the people you should dislike for passing this law. I don’t like to tell people how to think, but I think it’s sort of misguided as far as protesting that these guys are in town.”

The Diamondbacks stink.
SEIU can’t even protest a winning team.
Losers.
They are much more of a PAC than a union. In fact, that is pretty much true for all unions now. They only use their members, they do not serve them.
I knew it would come to this: they are also demanding the Dodgers move their spring training out of Arizona.
I don’t think so.....
Whether the DBs stink or not, I still bought a DB t-shirt because it had ARIZONA large across the front.
SEIU is funded bu the US taxpayer.
It supports the dems who are sloughing millions to their union and others. Second, they unionize illegal workers. In Cal no one is doing anything about the thousands of illegals in hotel work, janitorial etc. This union supports them and in some cases in so Cal, I believe they are representing them.
Awesome. I can appreciate that, even though I am True Blue (Dodgers fan).
“I knew it would come to this: they are also demanding the Dodgers move their spring training out of Arizona.”
Too late. The Dodgers have invested too much cash here. Here they will stay ;-)
You just won Double Jeopardy, dude.
SEIU has a lock on all CA civil service jobs, and that is a lot.
They had better. Dodger front office has been mum during all this tempest. I have yet to see Camelback Ranch, but would like to!!
” Dodger front office has been mum during all this tempest.”
Smart folks!
Ya mean with 14,000,000 people in the region, they got 100 people to show up and this made the news?
Very impressive!
Hey hey hey...that’s MY team you’re taking about. They may be a sucky team, but they’re OUR sucky team!
The SEIU is the Democratic Party’s equivalent of the brownshirts. I’m surprised they could take time from intimidating people by standing in a mob outside there house, or beating up innocent people, to take in a ballgame.
Do these people get paid to do these things? I am confused.
Most likely. If not in cash, them some sort of “in kind” goodie.
How do these people hold a job, assuming they do? How dumb do you have to be to go to a major league baseball game merely for the opportunity to BOOOOOO .... and it has nothing to do with baseball.
Beyond dumb.....
