Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell will host his first fundraiser for Arizona Sen. John McCain, facing a tough primary battle against former congressman J.D. Hayworth, at a McLean home later this month, advisers to the governor say.
The June 14 fundraiser will be at the home of Bobbie Kilberg, president and chief executive of the Northern Virginia Technology Council. Kilberg, an adviser to McDonnell, is a member of McDonnell's new government reform commission.
Other hosts include businessman Fred Malek, the commission chairman who has been under fire in recent weeks because of questions that have been raised about his past, former president of the National Federation of Independent Business Todd Stottlemyer, and Ted Georgelas, real estate developer and former chairman of the board of United Bank, and their spouses. All three men have given money to McDonnell, according to the Virginia Public Access Project, a nonpartisan tracker of money in politics.

I am anxiously awaiting one of McDonnell’s flunkies to send me an email asking for money again.
I just can't type coherently anymore...
'Til tomorrow, then. Same bat time, same bat station...

Everyone becomes a RINO via association. s/
Please send money to JD, he is stretching his funding but as we all know, money buys influence. Please help JD.
Come on guys, this is how the game is played. McCain campaigned for McDonnell when he was running for governor. McDonnell is returning the favor.
Politicians collect chits and call them in. It’s the system and it aint going anywhere.
You watch. Meghan McCain will make it official she is a democrat one day. Good for nothing.
It’s staggering. He rolls over for rats.

I am getting sick of seeing McCain on FNC. No hard questions ever.
Good to know for if/when he decides to run for senate.
She was a democrat before her daddy ran for president—voted for Kerry.
You know she’s chomping at the bit to make her grand, dramatic exit from the GOP with a glorious rant about how it’s too extreme for such a marvelous, tolerant person as herself. If her dad loses the primary I expect that’ll be her moment.
Her daddy may follow though halfway. He may join Crist as an independent.
Worse yet is expect her to say some BS about how she wants to get into public service. She’ll find a liberal area and run for mayor or representive. With the help of daddy’s money she may get in and push her liberal agenda.

It really does show pettiness and childishness whenever any Republican does anything to dare disagree with Freeperdom and is immediately labeled as a "RINO."
McDonnell closed a $4 billion gap in the state budget without raising taxes. Along with Ken Cuccinelli he's fighting against Obamacare and for offshore drilling. And he recently pulled Virginia out of the "Race to the Top" education funding because of federal demands.
If that's a "RINO" then we need a helluva lot more of them.
I don't like McCain. But McDonnell is merely returning the favor to someone who campaigned for him.
"Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."
McDonnell is a Reaganite, pure and simple. If you can do better, go ahead. I am not happy with his supporting McCain either, but I am not willing to throw in the towel on Governor McDonnell.
Corin, you have to understand. We have FReepers who are positively obsessed with McCain, and we have FReepers who think that anyone who doesn’t agree with them 100% are “RINOs.”
Were he alive today, Ronald Reagan would be called a “RINO” on some of these threads. He knew how the game was played and used it to his advantage. If he didn’t, he’d have remained nothing more than a former Hollywood star. Ah, but like so many among us, he could have stayed in Santa Barbara patting himself on the back for being a 100% pure ideological conservative!
I rather suspect that the name-callers have never run for or held public office.
Actually, I do understand.
I also understand that it's one of the main reasons Freepathons now take 2 1/2 months or longer.
I’m no fan of McCain’s, but that isn’t about to have me label McDonnell a RINO. You know who else is supporting McCain? Sarah Palin and the NRA. No one calls either of them RINOs, either. Sometimes you have to go with loyalty over principle, although that is never easy.
