Just remember that, for a while there, Cameron really was doing real science, running ROVs around the real wreck of the Titanic, and making huge advances in underwater remote systems. I don’t really much like his politics (or his ability to tell stories), but he does have real-world expertise in this particular area, so I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I’ll second that on Cameron. Watch “Ghosts of the Abyss” (documentary on Titanic, as well as the Discovery Channel Bismarck special, and it becomes pretty clear that he knows his stuff when it comes to deepwater operations + submersible ROVs. He’s actually designed a couple of them.

Robert Ballard discovered the Titanic, why not ask someone who actually knows something about deep water?
James Cameron? Further proof this administration is full of amateurs and children.

Sometimes you just have to think outside the box. Nothing else they've tried has worked yet.
