“Actresses who have expressed interest in the role and are reading the script include Cate Blanchett, Keira Knightly, Julia Roberts, and Charlize Theron. Randall Wallace, who wrote the current version of the script, is a strong possibility as director.” “Good grief...”

Good F**KING grief! Could they find any more shallow, ditzy bimbos? Oh, yeah... I don’t see Cameron Diaz’s name on that list. How about an adult with a brain and a conservative point of view? I’m thinking Angie Harmon.

Rush should play Galt.

Actually, I'm thinking James Woods would be a good Galt. With Patricia Heaton as Dagny. Good conservatives both.

There is only one man who should play John Galt, Jim Calviezel, who played Jesus in The Passion of the Christ.

I vote for either Carrie-Anne Moss or Kelly Lynch.

Angelina Jolie would be good for Dagny; if not her then Charlize Theron.

Don’t. It’ll screw it up, change the plot, etc. It a philosophy book meant to be read, not watched.

They may be hot looking women, but, last I looked, they are both brain-dead barking moon bats. Like someone said above, why not have Oliver Stone directing it too while you're at it?

> Have you seen Starship Troopers 3?
Yes. It sucked more than as Starship Troopers 2.
I liked Starship Troopers 1, even though it only contained about 40% of the book content and turned the Mobile Body Armor into just a stupid helmet.

A=A. You own yourself. Any products of your labor, you own those as well.

Wow... That was hard to explain... :-|

SST 1 and 2 were bad enough. Number 2 was REALLY BAD! I had to stop watching #3, just could not stomach it.

The book was a great read for a young teenager (when I first read SST) but the movies make me want to poke my own eyes out.

I watched the 1949 movie, “The Fountainhead,” with Gary Cooper.

It wasn’t too bad since Hollywood back then would still make a conservative movie although condensing that work into just over an hour really does not do it justice.

Now, a liberal Hollywood condensing 1196 pages into whatever they intend is going to be a disaster.

As I stated earlier: "The movie is not being made by generic, left-wing 'Hollywood' but by John Aglialoro, who holds the film rights to Atlas Shrugged, is an Objectivist, a member of The Atlas Society's board of trustees, and a successful businessman. It's not going to be polluted by the left."

I'll add that our founder David Kelley is involved in the project to make the philsoophy is sound.

"Wow... That was hard to explain... :-|"

Wow indeed. And to think Ayn Rand pumped out millions of words...

You've just repeated an elementary concept of libertarianism. Rand's Objectivism is much more complex than that. If you are a true devotee, you should know that already. To say otherwise would be to say that all those words she spewed were superfluous.

Um... Duh?

And no... Objectivism is simple in it's ideology. It's only when applying it to all of the idiotic and absurd arguments against it that it can get a little messy trying to explain it.

None are so blind as those who have removed their own eyes in their refusal to see.

Oh dear God yes. Did the producers of “Starship Troopers” even read the book?

He might work. But I always pictured Galt as sort of a young Michael Douglas: maybe Matthew McConaughey. Matt could pull it off, as could Robert Downey Jr. Or maybe Downey should play Ragnar Danneskjold... but for that there's always Johnny Depp. :-)

Angelina Jolie could easily pull off Dagney Taggart. So could Catherine Zeta-Jones.

In this case, it's the writers and the directors and producers that have to stay true to the ideological truths of the book. The actors just need to be good actors and the right ones for the role. It doesn't matter what they think. Heck... a liberal actor might even learn something and have a Eureka moment.
