(CNSNews.com) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says she believes she must pursue public policies "in keeping with the values" of Jesus Christ, "The Word made Flesh."
Pelosi, who is a Catholic and who favors legalized abortion, voted against the ban on partial-birth abortion that was enacted into law in 2003.
At a May 6 Catholic Community Conference on Capitol Hill, the speaker said: “They ask me all the time, ‘What is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.”

I know the media has a combined mental maturity of a third grader, but I find it hard to believe anyone asked the Speaker of the House, “What’s your favorite word” Color, food, tv show; maybe, but ‘word?!?’

Pelosi went to Rome and spoke with the pope. Afterwards, she told the press that abortion wasn't a settled issue. I was hoping for lightning to emanate from the Vatican, but we got a Bishop or something to counter that abortion is a settled issue in the Church. I had to wonder why the pope or some Cardinal didn't have her placed in an iron maiden. ( I've heard they still have them in a basement or something). I guess having a Catholic as Vice President and Speaker of the House intimidated the pope so that he couldn't respond personally to her.
Now as far as my sarcasm,......you seem to believe it's a settled issue, but apparently it's not. Over 60% of Catholics voted for Obama, a man that voted to kill babies AFTER they were born alive, if the mom didn't want them. Kenndy, Kerry, Pelosi, and Biden are just a sample of "Catholics" that can't seem to figure out what the Church teaches. Father Phlager seems to have forgotten, but hasn't been removed. All named high profile "Catholics" vote in public against their Church, but receive no penalty by the Church. As far as I know, they all still receive the Sacraments.
If the majority of the Church votes Obama, we will soon have homosexual marriage performed by women priests, and abortions performed in Catholic hospitals where prayer has become illegal. As long as we can get food stamps and welfare for illegal immigrants, I guess it's worth it. <<<---------That was sarcasm.
Now just as a kicker, if you don't watch the news,......Pelosi, this week, waxed poetic, for 15 minutes, how she loves the "Word" of God. We are scum if we believe the Bible, but all of the sudden, since the Dems run everything, including the interpretation of the Bible, it's cool to believe in God. As long as God likes murdering babies and stool packers, Pelosi and company can accept God in His new way of thinking. She has also recently SUGESTED that preachers preach illegal immigration from the pulpit. ( along with Earth worship and "green" crap)
Yup, I'm sarcastic,.....angry, upset, worried, disappointed, and forlorn, to see my Church in disarray and my country becoming a footnote in history. Will Catholics "evolve" into a new church with new dogma, and America be compared to the fall of Rome? I don't know, but I can only watch and read with sarcasm. I have no power otherwise, it seems to affect anything.
