These words are being written before the dust has had a chance to settle on Monday nights naval commando raid of the Gaza-bound Turkish flotilla of terror supporters. The raids full range of operational failures still cannot be known. Obviously the fact that the mission ended with at least six soldiers wounded and at least ten Hamas supporters dead makes clear that there were significant failures in both the IDFs training for and execution of the mission.
The Navy and other relevant bodies will no doubt study these failures. But they point to a larger strategic failure that has crippled Israels capacity to contend with the information war being waged against it. Until this failure is remedied, no after-action investigation, no enhanced training, no new electronic warfare doodad will make a significant impact on Israels ability to contend with the next Hamas flotilla that sets sail for Gaza.

Kill 20 next time.
The article may have covered certain facts and illuminated the actions fairly well ... but any notion that ‘better training’ would have prevented the loss of life on either side is just plain ignorant of the unpredictable nature of combat, raids and/or armed interventions especially when the enemy is a Radical Muslim.
In combating radical Islamics who were on board this vessel - one has to know - they would gladly die just to embarrass the Jews - intentionally provoke a firefight and die just to cause the Israelis international consequences...
It will come out in the end - a full report will show that no amount of planning the raid would have kept the Radical - Fanatical Muslims from furthering their goal of wiping out the Jews... It was a fully voluntary suicidal group act to confront the armed Israeli boarding crew... just another day in the life of an Islamic Jihad death cult.
Caroline Glick ought to be in the Israeli government.
Lesson learned; Fire a warning shot then disable the ship.
