Culturally speaking, the French have always been a progressive group; they've played a significant role in pioneering modern art, cinema, fashion and cuisine. Obviously McDonald's isn't the most progressive (or French) of eateries, but for the first time the home of the 'Royale with cheese' in France has launched a television commercial featuring an openly gay character. The ad campaign's tagline is is 'Come as you are' ('Venez comme vous êtes').
Obviously McDonald's is making a statement with this commercial: the Big Mac isn't just for the typical nuclear family - everyone is welcome to bask in the glow of the golden arches, which is a great message.
But is this actually a good ad - i.e. does it make you want to eat a Happy Meal? Is McDonald's more progressive than KFC? Do they still make McDonald's land cookies? When did a 30 cent cone become 60 cents?
You know it is a good idea to not eat Big Macs regardless.

I don’t go into McDonalds simply because there’s no food there.
What does sex have to do with McDonald’s hamburgers? Associating anal sex with a hamburger is not good.

I would not have assumed that gays felt unwelcome at McDonald’s (or any other fast food restaurant) and that ‘now the welcome mat is out’ ...unless there was a boycott I didn’t hear about.
So, if Wendy’s or Burger King doesn’t create an advertisement welcoming gays, does that mean they are not ‘gay friendly’ or are ‘not inclusive’ as opposed to McDonalds? I’ve always read that gays have higher amounts of disposable income which may mean they do not frequent McDonalds at levels matching their presence in the population - did this trigger McDonalds new ad or does Micky D’s just want to get some attention by advertising the obvious - they will happily sell food to people who want to buy it?
McDonalds food is garbage. It is not food. The shakes are all chemicals along with ice cream. The beef and chicken is garbage.
At least they do not elect Muslims to run their country. Things here are far worse than you realize.
This was such a sad advertisement. It doesn’t make me interested in eating at McDonald’s; it makes me think about the heartbreak of that poor deceived father.

I’ll say this though. When those fries were cooked in beef tallow, and the food was in those styrofoam containers, man it was good!
I gave up on McDonald’s AGES ago due to their marketing.
It is wrong because the practice of homosexuality is a totally unnatural act and McDonald’s is basically endorsing the practice of homosexuality.
Why in the world does any restuarant need to indentify the sexual activity of customers. Do homosexuals not eat at McDonald’s? Will McDonald’s feel the need to reach out to those who engage in bondage? Will McDonald’s be really “progressive” and try and get NAMBLA into their places?
