Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is canceling a scheduled meeting with Barack Obama at the White House tomorrow to return to Israel to deal with the fallout of the raid by Israeli forces to enforce the Gaza blockade on a flotilla of ships trying to run the blockade, MSNBC reports.
Netanyahu is in Canada today. YNET News reports he is cutting his trip short in Canada to leave for Israel.

I believe you have it right. Although I can understand why Netanyahu needs to go home immediately to deal with a growing crisis, there is no doubt that the last thing the Administration wants is a picture of Netanyahu meeting with Obama.

Under the Bush administration Israel was treated as the strong ally they were. Bush admin refused to dignify the NPT by attending, because he knew they are just trying to gang up on Israel. Obama, on the other hand actually signed on to the NPT, with the goal of disarming Israel.
That’s a good observation. Personally, I think the United States and Israel have many common interests, but if our leaders don’t think so, they shouldn’t pretend.

Now the AP is all over this story and only telling about half of it. Their template is that the Israelis “stormed” the lead ship and randomly opened fire.
Nevermind the fact that IDF soldiers had to be life-flighted to a hospital and specifically omited was the video they show does not show the naval officer telling the “floatilla” they were given safe passage to the open port to unload and verify their cargo.
The response from the lead ship was negative, negative, we will only go to Gaza.
after our support of a nuclear free Middle Eastin the UN last week and the ramifications that has for Israel, i would rather that Israel wait out the last 2 years of this administration and hope for a return to a friendly Israel policy in the next administration.

Obama supports lawlessness. He is right at the head of the line. Palestinian teachers and school children were dancing in the streets, when they learned that twin towers were bombed with airplanes in New York City, and nearly 3,000 people were killed. Obama is really a low life. How could Americans be such fools? How? We have brought the enemy into the USA government.
