Will the Senate Filibuster "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Repeal? Maybe.
BY JOHN MCCORMACK May 28, 2010
After the House passed a repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" 234 to 194 last night, the Senate will likely take up the legislation in June. GOP senators say that they're willing to filibuster the legislation, but do they have the votes?
Susan Collins already voted for repeal in committee, and it's difficult to imagine Olympia Snowe voting differently from her Maine colleague. So that puts the GOP caucus at 39 votes. They'd have 40 votes to filibuster repeal if Senator Jim Webb, who voted against repeal in committee, joins them--still one vote short of 41 needed to filibuster. So it appears most likely that they would need another Democrat to vote to filibuster. Who might that be?
Mark Pryor of Arkansas, for one, said through his spokesman he'd vote against repeal if the vote occurs before the Pentagon's report on "don't ask, don't tell" is complete.
Hell vote NO if there is a vote before the report is issued. Weve made a commitment to hear from our servicemen and women before a new policy was implemented and Senator Pryor is going to honor that commitment.
But in the coming weeks the left will be holding Pryor's feet to the fire in an attempt to get him to vote against a filibuster even if he votes against the underlying bill.

The votes aren’t there to stop anything.
They won’t filibuster anything else. Why would they stop this?
Why Don’t Those Tea-Party Republicans Mount A Strong Primary Challenge To These Terrible Main Sisters?
Nah.
If you want Collins out of there, there needs to be a Conservative Republican who can beat her in the Republican Primary.
That man is Paul LePage.
But he needs to become Governor first.
After 4 years in charge in Augusta, he could challenge Collins from that seat.
The Primary, with 7 candidates, is 10 days away, on June 8, and Paul LePage could use your campaign contributions and if you’re in Maine, your vote.

Some Dim will have to go along to replace the RINO Collin’s vote. Webb as this article says or some other Southern Dim Senator. How about KKKKKK Robert Byrd?
There will be a fillibuster.
I read that Byrd said he would vote for repeal. People are slow to speak out because the whole media will brand them as bigots. The elite have decided this is to be forced on the troops, to hell with those who have to live and die with it on a daily basis.
But it’s really close. If enough people speak up it can be blocked — and maybe killed dead after the elections.
Good to know. We need to contact him.
These bottom-feeding, scumbag, turncoat, RINO's make other RINO's (such as McCain, Lindsey Grahamnesty, Chuckie Hagel and former Senators Jumpin Jim Jeffords and Arlen Spectre) seem downright Conservative.
I don't care how long they have been in Congress, some of the blame can be laid directly at the door of the Leadership (who is also a girly-guy, wuss, spineless, weasel) which could, I believe, lower the hammer on these 2 delusional, old biddies, even if taking such action might drive them to openly embrace and change parties from who they now un-officially support and vote with (The Demo-Rats) much the same as Spectre did.
Collins and Snowe are famous and popular in Maine, a state that’s liberal, but not excessively liberal.
Collins and Snowe have money or the ability to raise money.
In 2008, in the liberal state of Maine, in a year when Republicans didn’t have a good year, Collins won. If Collins was of average popularity or below average popularity, it would have been more likely that she would lose. But she’s popular in Maine. Her opponent in the general was credible, the Congressman from one of the 2 Congressional Districts in Maine.
Who do you think should challenge Collins in Maine? Can you name suitably conservative Republicans in Maine? Do they have money or the ability to raise money? Are they well known? Are they charismatic, likeable, good speakers, good debaters?
I’m in Maine. Conservative Republicans who are well known, with money, charisma, likeablility, and the ability to speak well and debate well are rare.
If it’s that important to you (and I’m pretty sure it isn’t), you can donate to Paul LePage. He’s the tea party candidate for governor. A competent tax cutting manager.
http://lepage2010.com If LePage gets the Governor seat, he’s in a great position to challenge Collins.
I’d also recommend taking a look at Christine O’Donnell in Delaware. Mike Castle is the front runner there. Similar to Collins, he’s well known and liked. But he’s worse than Collins on the issues. If you don’t like Collins, you’ll hate Castle. http://christine2010.com
