Prostate cancer is too curable to have allowed this to happen.

I also remember him in Giant. He played Rock Hudson’s son. Of course James Dean starred in this one too.

I thought the LA Times Obit was the best source for his death notice.

Leave it to liberal journalists to keep harping on “Easy Rider” as his signature film accomplishment when he was SOOOOOO much more.
Personally I think that role was one of his lesser performances when compared to some of his work.

My mom took me to see Easy Rider when I was about 14, then she let me have that bird poster on my wall, mom was pretty cool.

I agree. Hopper did a lot of work that was far superior to Easy Rider.
Blue Velvet has always been a personal favorite of mine.

I have a copy of the poster (34”X24”) on my living room wall facing the front door. First thing you see when you walk in the house. Been there for years.

He played "Moon" in True Grit. He was knifed by his outlaw comrade for starting to spill the beans about Ned Pepper to Rooster Cogburn at the cabin by the mountain creek.
