Tigerized, you’ve only been around here for a couple of years, but I think your post should be on EVERY thread no matter what the thread is about. In fact, it should be in every American history book written in the future.
Thank you, kitkat! What a nice thing to say - but what you don’t know is that I was a lurker for years and years before jumping in on FR.
Many of us had “Obama Fatigue” well before the election. His 24/7 “Obama’s Plan for America” cable propaganda was remarkably devoid of detail, it just contained pretty rhetoric. The country was so in love with the concept of having a black president (after decades of being told what racists we all are) that we didn’t dare look too closely at the real man behind the curtain.
So, now we have our first Affirmative Action president. Who cares what color he claims to be? All I know is that you can only go so far blaming the previous administration, and at some point you’ve got to man up and represent your country. He’s supposed to be our AMERICAN president, NOT just the president of the American left, in spite of how much has been bestowed upon him by Americans of all colors and political affiliation.
And his timing is exquisite. You’d think that Memorial Day would be the perfect time for him to underscore his patriotism for all to see. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a clue about what America is all about. It’s as much, or more so, a state of mind as it is a country. His narcissism and arrogance tells me he has no appreciation for our history or those who have fought, bled, and even died to let him bask in all that’s been given to him. To him, America is still inherently evil.
I have a Marine son on deployment in Afghanistan. When I think of exactly who his CIC is, I start getting nauseated all over again. Perhaps we can spend some time this Memorial Day weekend strengthening our resolve to be involved citizens while honoring those who gave everything to give us that opportunity.
November can’t come soon enough.
I'll second that. Really crystallizes it.
