Phil, you got it all wrong. The gun ban doesn’t work because you can still get guns elsewhere. Not until all guns are banned (& vaporized) will a gun ban work.

I spend a few hours in a decent machine shop OR even a basic automotive garage and then a shopping trip to pick up some very common chemicals, I can put a crude but serviceable firearm together.
It'll take more than outlawing a tool to prevent their creation and utilization.
