Gulf oil spill: BP has a long record of legal, ethical violations

You can love them all you want. Nevertheless, as with any human institutions, there can be rogues in any group. As shown in this article, BP ran up a truly horrible safety record in the last ten years, a record for which it was repeatedly penalized by the Bush administration.

Indeed, by the time the Obama regime gave it carte blanche to do state of the art drilling in a dangerous environment it was much like a serial child abuser who had been convicted of raping a girl, sodomizing a boy, and assorted lesser child sex offenses who was then allowed, after bribing the appropriate authorities, to buy and run a kiddie day care center without any effective supervision. SURPRISE!!! It did the same thing all over again, just far worse.

This time, of course, it didn't just hurt itself and its direct victims, it screwed all the legitimate oil companies and drillers who have done such wonderful work over the years, just the way the Columbine murderers screwed legitimate gun owners. Even one of the causes was the same, inept law enforcement.
