Well, it turns out that that very teacher that claimed to be unfairly compensated, and that she would love to make $83,000, actually gets a salary of $86,389. Plus healthcare. plus pension. In totality, it amounts to well over $100,000 per year.(Analysis from theblogprof)

If she can’t live on 87K plus bennies, maybe she can get a job down the shore over summer break....
To: dalight
I’d grant her request. $3k a year in savings adds up.

If she’s that dumb that she rants about her pay without knowing what she makes... I’d fire her. She’s clearly lacking critical thinking skills and not qualified to teach.

I'm old enough to remember when many teachers had to get summer jobs. Painting houses was a favorite.

It takes a real moron to complain about making 86k a year for doing a part time job. Summers off, endless days off during the year. Sucks to be she.

The only way that may not be a lot of money is if this teacher is into some really overpriced housing. But, hey if the government hadn't totally jacked up the housing market, your house payment might be half of what it is, and you'd be enjoying at $2000/mo pay increase. Live by the sword...

Many of our elementary teachers are young and single, and either teach summer schools (pretty good pay), get summer jobs in resorts, or travel to Europe during the summer. They are off almost 2 solid months.

“i think she was just trying to bear false witness. Pretending to speak for the less fortunate”
Then she was being dishonest, not making it clear that’s what she was doing. Also grounds for dismissal in my book.

My two sons are teachers. While I’d like to say that they answered a “higher calling”, the biggest draw was summers off.

My kids’ teachers are heroes! I do not begudge them a long long vacation for all they put up with!
Its just the ones like Rita who whine about how much they are worth that bug me. As Gov Christie said- if you want to make more money, do something else!
