Where is the other angle to that picture? Reagan always had the flag to his right when facing reporter in front of the blue curtains. I am confident the flag would be there.

I appreciate the attempt to be fair, but this picture shows nothing...the flag is likely on the left side of the room, out of the camera angle. Also, Obama isn’t on the same planet as Reagan when it comes to patriotism...or anything else for that matter.

The flag in the White House Press room is usually to the right of the person speaking. To be fair I doubt Reagan's press press conference in your picture was a media hyped event after long absence from answering press questions directly.
There is something strange about the absence of flags during an overhyped Presidential event. I am sure it is close to unprecedented. Disdain perhaps?

That's not entirely true, not that I'm defending President Zero... Are you sure that was a formal press conference? Doesn't look like enough reporters.
But even then, there could be a flag to the President's right. You'll notice in the photos of Bush I and Reagan, the single flag is behind and to the right, just as flag etiquette says it should be.
