You nailed it. It disgusts me that the obamanation has probably given orders that will prevent our troops from aggressively defending even themselves.
The real players right now are North Korea, South Korea, China, and Japan.
If/when we see Japan move to a war footing, then it’s on.
China is the wildcard. They don’t want a war, but they can’t be seen as weak against South Korea and Japan. (If the US had real leadership, they could take cover under the threat of effective US action, but we don’t so they can’t.)
China’s only out is a covert pre-emptive decapitation of the Nork leadership, which they will then blams on someone else. But only diplomatically.
Kim Jong Ill knows this, hence the deployment of Nork troops and missiles on the border with China.
This is going to get bad.
That idea has a lot of merit! I like it.
YEah, pre-emptive decapitations are kind of a pipe dream. Like the people before Iraq who would say, why send an army when one bullet will do the trick. Well, the problem is getting him in your sights, and then knowing whether it’s the real Kim standing up or a doppelganger. These dictators don’t get where they are by standing around where somebody can get a shot at him. So, you have to buy off the palace guard. Certainly possible, but maybe not so easy.

I think some Generals and Admirals will tell 0bama to kiss their asses.
I remember how South Korean students protest the presence of our troops and want them out. Why not pull all them out of their bases and let the students have a taste of war and let them learn the value of our soldiery?
