Isn't there anything that can be done? I don't live in Alaska but that is probably what I would do.

There is a scaffolding company just down the street from the Palins place, I would love to see a two story wall of scaffolding erected with tarps between the property.That company sits on a small lot anyway, they could probably use some extra yard space for storage.
