“....what I am contesting is the fact it coincidentally appeared on a sign 100 feet wide while the president was there to give a speech.”

So what! The left has tried to turn this into an instance of Bush declaring a premature victory in the WOT.... something neither he, nor the Navy tried to do given the historical context and tradional/current use of the phrase “Mission Accomplished.” By the way signs like “Mission Accomplished” are commonly kept on hand for display on capital ships like Carriers when returning to their home ports. Educate yourself.

“You fighting this, AND your assumptions about me show that you can not take ANY criticism.”

Repeating DNC/MSM/lefty talking points will garner no respect from me. Try thinking on your own for a change. “Fighting this?” I guess to your mind people should just accept your ideas as being without error, and without comment. I don’t recall your critizing me in the original post, so how can you claim I cannot take “....ANY criticism?” The criticism has come from me to you.....projection?

“Simple logic dictates the coincidence claims to be correct, as long as other examples of 100 foot signs at locations other than this carrier can be produced. I’ve not seen any, nor have I heard anyone ever claim that there were.”

You need to get out more.... examples abound on US Naval ports/ships throughtout the Nation. Look harder, you’ll have to put down your cool-ade glass first.....ask any navy vet.....

“Of course W was liked by the military, unlike Obama. That has no bearing in this conversation.”

Yes it does. The Navy was proclaiming it’s pride in accomplishing it’s assigned task to a popular visiting CIC. Both you and the left have taken exception to this display of it’s traditional expression of that pride, and tried to turn it into something it was not...through either ignorance, or just plain nasty partisan politics.....

“I’m not a lefty. I lean more to the conservative side, but I can also call a spade a spade.”

I’m sure that you lean whichever way the wind blows..... Try thinking for yourself sometime instead of repeating lefty talking points on a Conservative forum.... You may want to aquaint yourself with the Traditions of the Naval Services. Calling anything a “spade” nowadays will get you labeled a “racist,” but what you actually did was call a trowel... a shovel......and I’m calling you on it.

“.......I’m guessing you see nothing wrong with PA Attorney General Tom Corbett’s recent subpoena.”

I guess when you have a losing argument, its best to change the topic...... stay on point.......

I will stay on point. It was no coincidence. And please, show me another 100 foot wide sign on another ship without the president on it that read “Mission Accomplished”. Heck, show me another carrier sporting a 100 foot sign that is not the ships name and motto.

You can not, and that is why I do not believe it to be a coincidence that both the sign and W appear together for the photo op.

You will have to supply proof to get me to change my opinion. And quite frankly, you have not given a logical argument to suggest otherwise. I just scanned through a couple hundred photos of Carriers returning to port. Lots of sailors lining the deck, not a single one with a sign other than the name of the ship. So I’m inclined to think the coincidence is even less likely.

Please continue your unquestioning devotion. Sorry, I don’t check my cognitive reasoning skills at the door.
