I don’t know if the other article is entirely accurate. The “hung jury in MacDonald’s favor” isn’t true exactly. A hung jury simply means that the jury could not reach a verdict one way or the other. What’s more, MacDonald and McGinnis eventually settled, and usually in settlements, there is no admission of liability — in fact, words to that effect are usually contained in the settlement agreement.
I don’t necessarily condone McGinnis’ tactics, both with regard to the MacDonald book and what he is doing now. I happen to believe that MacDonald did indeed kill his family, as the jury’s verdict in that criminal matter indicates. As for his “stalking” of Ms. Palin — he probably is there to follow her around, but without more, I doubt a jury would equate merely living next door to someone as stalking. Ms. Palin would have to prove other acts, such as him spying on her with binoculars or coming to her door to bother her.
Whatever the situation — I would like to see the two of them resolve their differences in a peaceful matter. I like both of them and hate to see this sort of thing between two civilized adults.
