Stuart Smalley is a Senator-Select. However, we've elected people like Michele Bachmann, Jon Kline and Tim Pawlenty (whether or not he's perfect is debatable but it can't be argued he's gone toe-to-toe with big DFL majorities and saved us from ruinous tax increases).
Our politics is maddening, though. We have idiots like Amy Klobuchar and Keith Ellison to live down too. We aren't proud of that. However, it's been nearly twenty years since a Democrat governed this state, and Republican governors outnumber Democrats in our state by more than two to one since statehood.
I wonder how many Somalians will leave Minneapolis/ St Paul if this kind of law passes.
