"It's a good thing they had a gun, or they might be dead," said Curtis Thompson, I'm sure Hizzoner will have the Chicago Thug Department trot right over there to arrest the homeowner and offer to stick a bayonet up his butt.

Huh? The intruder fired his revolver but was hit in the chest?
Will Daley prosecute or shove a weapon up the homeowners rear for protecting himself.

Thank God they did have a gun. Does it seem like we’ve all gone back to the wild west lately?

‘and that the shooting means there is “one less criminal” walking the streets.’
And one less Obama voter!

Looks like another publicity nightmare for the liar and thug Daley. Circumstances seem to suggest that the 80 year old homeowner had an illegal gun, the cad. Worse yet, he shot an Obama voter.
Fortunately for Daley, the Obama voter will continue to vote, several times each election.

Makes it sound like the guy shot himself. Poorly writen article. No mention of the home owners weapon other than “gun”

They don't bother no one, so why would anyone do that to them?" she said Easy...
1. They were old, and therefore more vulnerable prey, and...
2. This is Chicago, and they weren't supposed to have a gun!

Sounds like the plot of a Clint Eastwood movie. Was the guy’s name Walt Kowalski? FWIW, Eastwood himself turns 80 tomorrow!

I wonder when Shortshanks will file charges against the guy for having a gun in his house?
To: nickcarraway
In a struggle at their doorstep, the intruder fired his revolver but was struck in the chest and died of his wound, police said.
The homeowner may not have had his own gun in the house. It appears that it could have been the intruder’s gun that went off during the struggle, not the home owner’s gun.

Buy that man a beer! Heck,a case!
A high-profile Chicago attorney has already stepped forward offering to represent the man pro bono if he faces charges for possessing a weapon.
“Self-defense isn’t just a right, it’s a duty,” said attorney Joel Brodsky. “If this man is prosecuted for saving his own life it’s not just a travesty, it’s justice turned inside out.”
