When we lived in Corvallis, we always heard that a wave would come over the Coast Range from Newport. We also felt a number of “temblers”(is that what they are called?), including one that broke a building in two up in Mount Angel. It seems that the whole area is subject to a plate sliding off shore about 20 miles (?) and then the entire NW will get a tsunami that will make others look like BigSurf swim centers.

If you go to Long beach you can see some short narrow hills that are actually sand dunes created durring these events. I don’t think you will find any in Corvalis, however. You should be safe other then having you house shake apart around you.
