ALBANY -- An assemblywoman under fire for sponsoring a bill that asks cops to shoot gun-wielding suspects in the arms and legs brushed off the outrage yesterday -- although she admitted she is no expert on police work.
Asked about her critics' contention that the proposed legislation will put police lives at risk, Annette Robinson (D-Brooklyn) told The Post: "I understand that."
She insisted that cops use too much force, but acknowledged she is unqualified to assess the issue.

" acknowledged she is unqualified to assess the issue. " being unqualified doesn't stop her from the old 'open mouth, insert hoof' syndrome.
is there a worse level of stupidity?

If you can shoot them in the arm or leg, you don’t have to shoot at all. Plus there are arteries in the arms and legs and they can bleed out and die, so it’s not automatically a non-lethal shot.
Obviously the woman who thought this up is not a person familiar with weapons and under what conditions, you use them, and how.

They should shoot the gun out of the bad guys hand like they do in some westerns or better yet, let the bad guy shoot first and then shoot his bullet out of the air before it hits anyone.
Liberals are plumb stupid.

She represents Brooklyn. I’m not familiar with Albany, other than being the state’s capital, maybe someone else can answer that.

They should shoot the gun out of the bad guys hand like they do in some westerns or better yet, let the bad guy shoot first and then shoot his bullet out of the air before it hits anyone.A better solution would be for the cop to jump up and grad the bullet with his teeth, that way they would not need to waste taxpayer dollars on guns or bullets.

” A Brooklyn councilwoman came under fire yesterday for suggesting cops might have joined in the Central Park wilding attacks if they hadn’t been in uniform.”
“Councilwoman Annette Robinson (D-Brooklyn) made her comment to reporters...We look at the officers that were on duty and wonder if, were they not in uniform, would they be the ones to participate in the kind of behavior that was existent in Central Park?” she asked.”

Unfathomable! Of course, those guys who got shot in the hand or leg will get Obamacare, so it won’t cost anything! Right, Ms. Robinson?/s;)

So, they pass the law and the officers are required to shoot to wound. A situation occurs and the police shoot the perp in the leg, but hit the femoral artery and the the guys dies. Can anyone spell lawsuit. This, if passed, will be a goldmine for the lawyers.
