A Minnesota teacher e-mailed the entire school district to organize a counter-protest against the local tea party rally...

The e-mail was sent out to all teachers in the school district and ... Rochester Tea Party Patriot Chairwoman Cindy Maves contacted School Board Chairman Jim Pittenger to protest the teacher’s use of district e-mail for the political message.

“I am not surprised that there would be a counter-protest. I am just surprised they used the district e-mail,” Maves said.

I’m not surprised that government unionists would oppose constitutional government.

Contact the state’s Attorney General and file a formal complaint and demand that the teachers and the district’s political BS be shut down!!! It’s illegal to use taxpayer dollars for their anti-American politics.

She’ll be promoted to at least vice-principal for showing initiative and “manning the barricades” as the lefties say.

Considering the number of public school teachers that attend Tea Party gatherings, I can’t see this as a great threat.

Teachers in this area absolutely detest Washington’s interference with their ability to do their job.

A Minnesota teacher e-mailed the entire school district to organize a counter-protest against the local tea party rally...

Well since they are protesting against a group whose acronym stands for "Taxed Enough Already" and since we already know their proclivity towards homosexuality and other perverse activity...

I think we should refer to their effort as Not Taxed Enough Already...

Or "Not-TEA" for short.

“Teachers in this area absolutely detest Washington’s interference with their ability to do their job.”

What does that have to do with organizing protests against Tea Partiers? The Tea Party is not Washington.

I teach in a Public School . There are a few of us there , always opposed but always trying to educate the teachers. My kids know about Drudge and FR . I tell them the REAL truth and you know what ? THEY GET IT ! They just never ever hear the truth. I have a few Obama haters in a few classes now . They look things up rather than just accept the MSM version of things. We just had Governor Christie come to the school for a surprise visit . I LOVED IT !

Minnesota's attorney general Lori Swanson has been described aa "ACORN's favorite attorney general": http://minnesota.publicradio.org/collections/special/columns/polinaut/archive/2010/04/barden_says_swa.shtml. I doubt if a complaint to her office would accomplish anything.

This kind of crap is not new. I was teaching a class of 30 or 40 Michigan state employees in Detroit during the Reagan-Mondale campaign. A union rep came into my meeting room in the morning and announced that departments had authorized anyone who wanted to go to attend a Mondale rally in Detroit that afternoon. I had about 6 in the afternoon session. Reagan was in town a few weeks later, and as chance would have it I was teaching another session that day. Needless to say, no announcement about attending the Reagan rally was forthcoming. The dems, after all, are the party of government, not the Republicans. I'll wager that 75% of the mob cheering for Mondale were state and local government and school district employees using paid leave to attend the rally. We the taxpayer get to pay the salaries of folks while they demand more of our tax money. Happens all the time.

I'm sure the same phenomenon was at work in recent protests in the Illinois state capital about budget cuts. These protests were on a workday, during business hours. A large percentage of those protesting were without a doubt government employees using sick or some other type of paid leave to maintain their paychecks while they demanded more money from the taxpayer. We need to start photographing these mobs and ask the citizenry to try to identify as many of the protesters as possible. When civil serpents are discovered to be in the mob, freedom of information act requests should be made to discover what type of paid leave they used to attend the protest.

I'm all for freedom of expression, but not on my dime.

In Ohio it would be a serious ethics violation and most probably a criminal act, either way it`d get someone fired here.Someone needs to push this to the hilt! It`s about time these goons started getting fired at the very least.

Fire her for doing this while she was supposed to be educating the kids. When the next levy fails they should be reminded what went on during school hours and why they don’t need more money!

I am just surprised they used the district e-mail,” Maves said.

Oh, come on. You're not really surprised, are you? This sort of stuff has become SOP. It wouldn't surprise me if some "educators" take their classes on a "field trip" to join in the counter-protest, and give them extra credit for screaming at their own parents.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
