OK, this one has me going “HUH???” I thought Germany kept their treaty with Japan, and declared war on us after we declared war on Japan following the attack upon Pearl. We then responded be declaring war upon Germany after they made their declaration on us. Now if this is wrong, PLEASE someone corrcet me and the history I have heard over the years. If I am correct, then someone please explain to me WTH this article is all about...

Bingo, after the Dec. 7th attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan, the US declared war against Japan. Japan had a strategic arms treaty with Germany and Italy. After the US declared war on Japan, Germany and Italy ‘formally’ declared war on the US on Dec. 11th. Subsequently, the US ‘broadened’ its terms of war to include Germany and Italy with Japan (thereafter known as the Axis Powers).
