R-12 freon is heavier than air. I falls to the ground and dissipates in 2-3 days.

What are you talking about? EPA mandated switching to the newer less efficient R-432?

R-12 worked just fine. So did Kevlar and it’s superior Spectra from the old Allied Corp.

The whole freon deal was that DuPont was about to lose the patent on R-12, and pushed the fed to ban R-12 due to, let's see, early 90s, so it had to be the ozone hole scare as we weren't into global warming yet, but had surpassed the global cooling scare. Lo and behold, DuPont had R-134 ready to go to replace it.

R-12 was fine, and wasn't a threat to the atmosphere like it was claimed. And R-134 is crap compared to R-12.
