BP is streaming live video on the internet from the ROV that is monitoring the flow of oil from the damaged well.
Some additional information is available here: http://industry.bnet.com/energy/10004536/how-the-live-oil-spill-video-feed-will-force-bps-hand/
This of course will be used to bludgeon BP and anyone else who advocates oil and gas expansion.
BP apparently initially finessed the issue by going with the lame US gov't (Zer0's fault) estimate.
I wish politics could stay out of this. I know for one that I have zero concern about politics over this event, blame and politics can wait for later is what I say.
Where’s the aliens and the crazed Navy Seal?
The sole evidence for Marky and Waxman’s claims last week that BP lied consisted of a report that the sipper had briefly flowed at a rate of 5000 barrels and this feed. Adding two plus two and getting a hundred and 46, they announced that because oil could still be seen to be flowing, that proved BP had lied.
It's really important to keep in mind how the Democrats and the media handled Katrina, and realize they're doing it again with this issue. Watching the daily news briefings, with representatives of the main players there, provides a much clearer picture of what's going on than the reporting or the Democrats. For example, those who watch the briefings will be aware that BP has been saying for over a month now that 5000 barrels was an estimate based on what their scientists could see, and was very much an estimate that’d have to refined once they were able to get some instrumentation on site. They've said that right along, but it didn't get reported, and the media are going to try to take advantage of the public’s ignorance of that once the flow estimate figures are available in the next day or two.
Remember the Congressional Black Caucus claims about the demonstrators against the health bill? Same game. Those who want to know what's really going on are just going to have to watch the daily news conferences. The reporting is overwhelmingly agenda driven.
If you can prevent a major ecological disaster when the government and professional oil companies cant...you might be a redneck.

Lets get those rednecks in the middle of the crisis!
