That, is the really troubling part...
We need Congress to establish a Blue Ribbon Panel to study this tragedy. I say me and you and Sandra Bullock and the Hot Celebrity of your choice should be on this panel and sent to the Beaches of Hawaii for 2 years to work on this terrible problem facing the American Citizens. (all expenses paid for by Uncle Sam of course!)
I think it is important that we make such a sacrifice and do our country this great service!

I don't think we'd slip that far technically in that scenario, maybe more like a 1920/1930 lifestyle with hints of 1970's technology but I wonder what the rest of the world would do, we would leave a huge power vacuum.
In all the things that go on with Israel and her enemies, according to the Bible's account of the last of the end days -- and -- the 7-year Tribulation period ... there is no mention of any power in the world, like the United States, that has any bearing at all -- on these events. The way the Bible relates all these events -- the U.S. doesn't even figure into it in the least. It's like the U.S. doesn't even exist at all.
So, that's the scenario that we're talking about -- "What happened to the U.S. in the world, so that it doesn't even rate a mention of anything -- in the wars, in the peace agreement, in the world structure -- what happened to it?" It's simply "not there" ...
Russia is there, Europe is there, Turkey is there, Syria is there, Iran is there, Jordan is there, Egypt is there -- but the U.S. is not there ...
Apparently if it's a "power vacuum" like you said -- it's such a "huge power vacuum" that the rest of the world doesn't care in the least what the U.S. does or thinks -- and the U.S. doesn't even rate a "hello" in those events in the Middle East.
I think she'd look for new partners.
According to the Bible's account of the last of the end days and the 7-year Tribulation, just before the Messiah of Israel comes back and sets up His world-wide government over all nations -- Israel does not have a single ally or partner. In fact, the entire world -- all the nations (every one) is against Israel at this time.
What scares me is radical Islam might fill some of the void.

If you want to really see something terrible, watch this video of a Jewish girl who converted to Islam. Boy her parents are ticked off at the least.
I looked at the YouTube video... and the following is information for others reading here...
The video itself isn't terrible -- what is being referred to about "terrible" is the basic thought of a Jewish person converting to Islam -- the very idealogy that wants to annihilate and destroy Israel and kill every single Jew on the planet.
The video itself is merely another person telling the story about this Jewish girl along with clips of her speaking about how she got to that point. It's very short and doesn't tell the whole story. It's quite brief.
The Jewish girl is (or was, don't know which) a university student, she says she works two jobs, and she doesn't sound "crazy" or anything. But, nonetheless, there she is, a Jewish girl converting to Islam, the very idealogy that wants to kill her and her entire race of people.
At the point of where the video is shot, she is contemplating telling her parents about having already converted to Islam.
The video is only 2 minutes 15 seconds long.
