WASHINGTON Gubernatorial hopeful Meg Whitman and U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina have the chance to make history next month by becoming the first women to win the California Republican Party's nomination to the state's highest elected offices.
But as their races head for the finish line, both are having a tough time closing the deal with likely female voters, who remain undecided in large numbers and appear poised to determine the outcome of both contests.
Judith Brown, a 76-year-old Republican from Napa, says she won't be part of the history-making effort.
Brown, a GOP voter for more than 40 years, said the idea of supporting a woman is appealing but will have to wait.
In the primary, she's backing Senate candidate Chuck DeVore over Fiorina because she says he's a little more conservative. She likes gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner over Whitman because she thinks he'd get things done a little faster.

Ouch!
June 8th
Double Ouch!
Lemme guess. Most married women are not enthusiastic with either of these candidates because they are too liberal, and most single women are not enthusiastic with them because they are too conservative, especially with taxpayer funded “freebies.”
Well, the selective use of a sample voter is an ancient trick. And the one thing we can be sure of is that the Sacramento Bee wants the Republicans to lose.
Not a comment on the candidates, just a comment on this reporter’s intentions.
I haven’t seen any on them sold on eBay, either. No! Wait! Never mind.
I think it’s very condescending to start from the premise that women voters are a bloc, who will tend to support women candidates for office.
Does the sisterhood of Hillary’s traveling pantsuit really exist? Do women voters really tend to support women candidates, regardless of party or political leanings?
VERY interesting.
Carly Fiorina has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List.
She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty.
She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries.
Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners.
She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence.
She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. Thats no RINO. Thats a winner.

So nice to have you back!

Thanks!!
YES IT IS! Thank you, b9. Great tune that’s playing in my head. Your post made me smile and that’s what I needed to get me to post again!
FROM THE MOUTH OF CARLY FIORINA: I do not believe where a potential judicial nominee stands on that issue [of abortion rights] is a qualifier or an unqualifier.
CARLY: ...(W)hile that is a very important issue, it is frankly a decided issue. The law is clear in the state of California, where there is a constitutional guarantee to the right to an abortion. So why are we talking about a theoretical issue?
Carly Fiorina: Sonia Sotomayor supporter.
Carly can burn in hell.
Former Penn. Senator and major pro life , Rick Santorum and Conservative Senator Imhoff are supporting Finoina.
If you think 16% will beat Babs BoToxer, I have a bridge to sell.
You have nothing to sell me. You are a sad little acolyte for Carly The Fraud. Carly cannot beat Boxer. Only Chuck can.
Youi must have missed me.....
:-)
What are the nether regions like out there?
:-)
There are actually Conservative forums without the anti war PaulBots and other delusional dreamers around.
I was lonely without you and SoCalPol but she didn't leave me for the likes of wanting to travel Europe!
You have to wonder though, what would life be without the pimply, idiot Paulbots to make fun of?
I won’t support any candidate simply because they are a man or woman, black or white, red or green with pink polka dots.
