There seem to be two concepts that you folks can’t grasp: 1.) healthcare resources are limited and 2.) everybody has to die eventually.

This thread is about the DELIBERATE KILLING of human beings. What are your feelings on that.

The example I used was a symbolic example to illustrate those points.

So, the shortage of ventilators is actually a type of "boogie man" that the Obamacare crowd has invented and even though it doesn't exist you want to organize a health care system that assumes it does?

FYI, I’m an RN and guess what?

I'm guessing that you've been seduced by the culture of death and either don't realize or do realize it but think the pro-life crowd is too ignorant to figure it out.

The Nazi nurses didn’t take their own tribunal seriously because they assumed everyone knew they were right, and it was just a show trial. When they finally realized we were serious, they thought we were too stupid to understand how right they were. I see some of their arrogance in this troll.

You just don't understand the important work being done, and how it benefits the folk. Read New Folk.

This thread is about a bunch of whining hypocrites with very little knowledge of the healthcare system arguing about things that they don't understand, hypocrites who think that turning off a ventilator or withholding dialysis or IV fluids on terminally ill patients is assisted suicide. You trying to argue about this with me would be like me trying to argue about black holes with Stephen Hawking. It's just a waste of time. good day.

Unfortunately, the shortages are real in Canada and the UK. They are intermittently real here in the US. Neither would get the ventilator in the UK, and probably not in Canada. In the US, we still have these decisions made by the attending’s medical judgment to some extent. Here, the decision would be according to triage - who could best survive?

I like to point out to the Public Health people that the courts could be described as limited community resources with and inefficient, jumbled mix of private and public payers, too. But no one considers triage on justice in a court of law or contemplates going to a completely government-paid legal system.

The Public health ethicists and theorists like Ezekial Emanuel (Rahm’s brother and President Obama’s go to guy) should concern the rest of us. Emanuel believes knee replacement is not a medically necessary procedure and points out that all of them, along with most hip replacements, are elective. Never mind that the money has been stolen from the patient via Medicare and income tax going to Medicaid - money that could have been better used to buy long term care and true insurance.
