Were they snapping porn cards for escort services to passersby as they walked along?

I’m quite surprised there are never crime statistics mentioned in LV.

With the collapse of the housing market there, I’m sure a whole lot of unemployed illegals are wondering around.

I just wonder who has to pick all those things up everyday.

More illegals I'm sure. They've got quite a little racket going on, get paid to pass out litter, then get paid to pick it up.

I find it interesting the Torres and Co. don't include other Hispanics from Central and South America who are attempting illegal entry. It's all about their poor Mexican compadres.

Let's ask Torres and Presidente Calderone what they think of the poor migrants being stopped at Mexico's southern border with guns, and much more punitive deportation laws.

What does Torres and Calderone say about those poor people who come from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, parts south from South America, and cross Mexico's border? How are they treated?

Answer: Pretty shabbily, yet Calderon condemns one of our States for inforcing a State law that simply mirrors Fed law. Notice that in the Calderon/obambi meeting neither say anything about the above?

Movie: El Norte (1983) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085482/

Plot summary:
Mayan Indian peasants, tired of being thought of as nothing more than "brazos fuertes" ("strong arms", i.e., manual laborers) and organizing in an effort to improve their lot in life, are discovered by the Guatemalan army. After the army destroys their village and family, a brother and sister, teenagers who just barely escaped the massacre, decide they must flee to "El Norte" ("the North", i.e., the USA). After receiving clandestine help from friends and humorous advice from a veteran immigrant on strategies for traveling through Mexico, they make their way by truck, bus and other means to Los Angeles, where they try to make a new life as young, uneducated, and illegal immigrants. Written by Ed Cannon ecannon@mail.utexas.edu

I saw this movie when it first came out.

The Guatemalan brother and sister are portrayed as having a very rough time in their journey through Mexico and the brother is encouraged to pass himself off as Mexican, even down to using the proper swear words. They finally get to Los Angeles.

It's a story told from their point of view as political refugees, and the audience is supposed to sympathize. I don't recall that at any point in the story they sought political asylum and a path to obtaining legal status in the U.S. The sister dies of infections brought on by rat bites she got when they were traveling through a secret tunnel from Mexico into the U.S. The brother passes up a job opportunity in distant Chicago to be with his dying sister, and ends up as a bracero waiting on a street corner with the other illegals.

Illegal aliens sent $15 billion (last amount I saw) to Mexico that they earned here this year. That’s money earned here but not spent here — in other words that money was a gift to Mexico.

The argument that they contribute to the economy as a source of cheap labor ignores the fact that it is a black market economy. Were they all made citizens tomorrow & had to pay for the certifications, insurance, licenses and other costs that federal, state and local governments impose upon citizens, they wouldn‘t be employable. [Which, by the way, is a great demonstration of the free market at work — the costs of government control].

In addition, we pay for healthcare & education at more expense than for our own children because we have to accommodate THEIR language.

In repayment they burn our flag, tear it down & promote discontent through their political organizations: La Raza, reconquista, mecha.

This is not about “race.” Hispanic is not a race. This is about OUR country. You want Mexico so bad GO HOME.

"So engaging in a little guerilla warfare, I just struck up a conversation with my friend, in Spanish, within earshot of everyone, but not looking at them, stating I had heard I.C. E. was ramping up for a major raid of illegals along the strip in the next few days and that they had already deported a large group and it was coming. I did this on a few occasions, at least five or so illegals must have heard this. It was done in such a way as to make it look like a legitimate information leak rather than a ruse. I even saw some guys drop their boxes right there and head out of the area like jackrabbits."

Perfect! But how did you know that being in Japan? Is there a similar situation in Japan?

Just say ICE and watch them scatter like cock-roaches. I did something similar at Home Depot in my area, Southern California. I did it very subtly while trying to gain their confidence. I said, "I've heard that ICE is coming to this store, so you may want to think about leaving." They immediately left and didn't come back. Such tactics actually work. Be polite. Try to look like you're on their side.

Okay, so I lied. I'm okay with that if it got rid of some illegal aliens. It's time to get conniving. I will lie if helps to bring us back to our Constitutional ways. Gawd knows, the liberal/socialist/Marxists have done it for decades to further their unrealistic bleeding-heart Utopian ideals.

I say fight fire with fire! I know longer believe in taking the high road, since it often lacks in results. I'm sick of watching our Constitutional heritage erode because we won't fight. What? The original Minutemen did fight fair on battle field and used guerilla tactics? That was a bad thing? I now say use any means to restore our Constitution and after, re-instate your values. I'm tired of losing.

It's very similar to what combat soldiers go through. They learn to kill and dis-member and totally destroy any human being that is their enemy. While many come back with awful memories, THEY survived. I see the same in Marxist politics - take no prisoners. Do unto them as they do unto us. Getting the idea?

It's time to use the system against them. Forget large marches in DC...the WH and capitol see that shit every day and ignore it. While I absolutely love the TEA Party folks and realize they HAVE made some difference, notice that all Obambi, Reid, Pelosi agendas have passed?

Everyone in the TEA Party and on this board have ignored me on States' Rights issues. I had tried to tell them that I had been there and done that way before they got of their couches. I've posted many articles over the years about States' Rights and got little response. Now my take is coming to fruition.

Happily, it looks like a lot of States are getting fed up and passing many resolutions (although some non-binding), but others are working on laws and even State Constitution Amendments. Maybe we still have a chance...

New topic: Thank you for your solid perspective and info on Asia. BTW, is NORK a true nuclear power? From what I read they are having technical difficulties. Good. But the US State Department (Hillary) is still giving lip service to North Korea, much like Albright did back in Clinton days. Remember Aldumb raising a toast to Kim Jon Kill, while promising light-water reactors for their cooperation in stopping their nuke program? Do these people never learn?

I'm not so much worried about China, because they are about succeeding in World affairs and wouldn't attack the holder of their money (read: treasury bonds).

Some nations, China, India, Brazil, Israel are truly becoming free-enterprise zones, while Europe, South America, much of Africa, and now the US is heading more into failed socialism.

China has long way to go regarding human rights, but once they took over control of Hong Kong, they accelerated into free-enterprise (they're not stupid). Yes, they are still a dictatorship, but I believe that will be gone with the next decades. They look forward, while the US and Europe look to fix today's problems with more debt. The Chinese have always looked long term. We are looking short term for political expediency.

I never thought I would see this in my life time where I thought China had more promise. I've made up much of my losses of late 2008 crash by buying China stocks. They continue to have an extraordinary GDP. Yes, some say there is a potential real-estate bubble, but China has a gigantic rural population that needs power and agriculture products. I will continue to invest in their future, as well as, India.

With the socialist/Marxist takeover of the US, I'm now just out for my wife and my family. I don't care where the money comes from. Hell, I'm thinking of shorting poor Greece.

If the Castro brothers were ever to die and capitalism regained it's footing in Cuba, think of the opportunities. Yes, I'm greedy. I did my duty in the service and many years after as an activist. Now, I just want to secure my wife's and childrens' future.

My worries are about North Korea and Iran. What's your perspective and knowledge?

Mine is that the Western world will continue to do nothing about them. We will eventually be facing a nuclear capable North Korea and Iran. While I don't think either will launch, the potential for extortion will be there forever.

And, I hate to finally admit it in public, I can see "end times" if either were to launch. It would escalate beyond turning back. Even though obambi has told the world we have some 5100 warheads and Russia has probably as much. Either country has enough to destroy the planet and mankind, not to mention what China has. Things are really getting nasty.

BTW, what is South Korea considering regarding the NORKS sinking their ship? I doubt little, since the NORKS have thousands of artillary aimed at Seoul. So the Westen world just lets Kim Jung Ill keep going? Is there any plan? Best, ANV

Illegal aliens sent $15 billion (last amount I saw) to Mexico that they earned here this year. That’s money earned here but not spent here — in other words that money was a gift to Mexico.
I believe your premise is incorrect.

First off how do you ascertain the metric that 'illegals' sent $15 billion to the 'home country'?

Secondly, these people 'tithing' some portion of their wage aren't livin' large. Try to manage a household on burger-flip wages and 'tithe' 10% to anybody you desire and see how far you get. That the recipients of 10% tithe can get farther on than the 90% says a lot about the standard of living of those receiving the 'tithe'.

The argument that illegal alien labor supports a 'black' economy belies the fact that virtually every American would be hard pressed to pay for essential commodities for subsistance if produced entirely by in-country non-union labor totally Fed. regulation and tax compliant. I fail to see any difference for 'undocumented', i.e., 'illegal', aliens entering this country and 'shipwreck' survivors.

I will concede that the ramifications to a libertarian open-border policy that I advocate may result in the establishement of 'ghettos' throughout this country. Detroit has vast tracts of land that can be devoted to squatters. However, that notwithstanding, why should there not be any ghettos in this country? Why should not the ghettos having 'streets paved in gold' not perpetuate and promulgate the dream of 'makin' it large' in mainstream U.S.A. society? I believe that at least 1/3 (if not more) of the contemporary indigenous populace can trace their roots to ghettos of a century ago.

I believe the problem with the foregoing is that there's no sense of obligatory gratuity for being rescued from the mire and detritus of their previous existance? I believe that therein lies a great deal of the problem that we need to deal with presently, i.e., previous generations of ghetto dwellers the mere fact of dwelling in U.S.A. ghetto was heaven and that by their own efforts they could 'make something of themselves [or their children]'.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. "Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

My son set up my cell phone with voice activation so I need not put on my glasses to call someone. My husband and sons were ICE numbers (In Case of Emergency}. Waiting in a long line at Walmart, I called my husband and the voice asked me if I wanted ICE 1, 2 or 3. The lines cleared out in a hurry as customers left quickly without their purchases, the girl at the register believed they heard ICE and left.

Sorry guy. If you notice the time stamp, it's late night (early morn) after having some rum (er, that would actually be lots of) and I tend to ramble. My bad.

BTW, I read everything you post regarding the east Asian area. You're there; we are not. You read, see, and experience things we don't. Thank you for keeping us informed.

Best.
