Slavery had been abolished in Mexico before Texas's’ Independence, and was a major reason for the tension between the Mexicans and the Texicans.

Slavery had been abolished in Mexico before Texas's Independence, and was a major reason for the tension between the Mexicans and the Texicans. That would have changed had the confederacy taken over any part of the country.
