HONOLULU (AP) -- A congressional seat in President Barack Obama's hometown is up for grabs in a special election Saturday.
Republicans believe they are on the cusp of taking control of a district that has been controlled by Democrats for two decades.
Republican Charles Djou (duh-JOO') is favored to win the seat, and a victory would be an embarrassment to Democrats locally and nationally given that Obama was born in the district and spent most of his childhood here.

One thing you can count on is that the media will downplay or ignore the outcome of this race.

Of course the 150,000 absentee ballots from Chicago’s south side remain something of a puzzle.

HONOLULU (AP) -- Ed Case has been declared winner in Hawaii's special congressional election Saturday. The voting was nail-bitingly close until votes poured in from one military installation in the midwest. Suprisingly, all votes from the 442nd Black P. Stone Nation Regiment went for Case, giving him the majority.
