Another elitist punk who wants to regulate everything.
Is Jobs kidding?? The only thing that could make the iPad more porn-friendly is to make it waterproof!
I can’t wait for Google to develop its pad device.
While I don’t like Apple products, I can respect this stance by Jobs. Won’t stop you from getting porn on your iPad, but does make it one or two steps more complicated. For some that will be enough.
Internet access= porn access
Oh He's not?
I doubt that I ordinarily agree with Jobs on many political issues, but he is a remarkable and serious person. He has simply out-thought other executives in the tech field. He is right about porno. Apple products come with parental controls, which can be set by parents to block dangerous websites.
If Jobs has a sense of the harm and the degradation associated with porn, he is showing good instincts. Someone who has a hand in creating beautiful devices and good software does not wish it to be used for filth. It may be difficult to control what people do with your creation, but at least you can take a stand.
Wow astonished, AMAZED, but can’t say I disagree with Mr. Jobs, Porn only servers to ruin peoples’ lives!
Read any FR Apple thread for your answer. The anti-Apple vitriol is, at times, nearly incomprehensible...
Apple users can't even discuss technical aspects of their equipment of choice here without being personally attacked -- as "leftists" or "gays" or worse...
If it's not mere jealousy or envy, it is a mental illness...
Are people jealous of Steve Jobs and Apple?
That may be part of it, too... with Steve Jobs coming back to the company -- and showing those previous CEOs that they were "doing it all wrong" and that they should have never kicked him out of the company in the first place, because Jobs does know what he's doing there.
When Jobs came back, he turned it back to where it was before, when he was running things, and has show how successful Apple can be when it concentrates on making "wildly successful products" -- and not being just "another computer company"...
But, the funny thing about all this "hullaballoo" about the porn restriction on the Apple App Store -- is that these "complainers" put it as "control" that they are against -- however, it's been the same control as always -- from the time that the iPhone was first sold (about three years ago).
What made it really "go bigtime" (in the complaints) was when Jobs said -- "no porn" ... then it exploded and a whole lot of people complained ... LOL ...
So, I think you can see where these complaints are coming from ... it's the "porn lobby" (or the unofficial porn lobby, from the porn users themselves...).
