Carville, Matthews rip W.H. BP response
Politico ^ | April 21, 2010 | GLENN THRUSH

At first, it was Rush Limbaugh who tagged the gusher in the Gulf "Obama's Katrina" -- but now two lions of the left are warning the White House that the administration's handing of the environmental catastrophe is inflicting long-term political damage.

James Carville, a stalwart Obama defender -- and Louisiana native -- and MSNBC's Chris Mathews both voiced concerns about the president's handling of the spill, and Obama's decision to allow BP to take the lead on plugging the pipe, which has been pouring oil into the sea for a month.

Their statements came on a day when the press corps spent the better part of an hour grilling White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about the administration's response to the Deepwater Horizons disaster -- and the cloud of confusion over the amount of oil spilling from the severed exploration pipe and BP's efforts to staunch the flow.

The oil spill is the fault of OBAMA and the DNC
because they took $$$$$$ from BP to lift the regulations.

The Obama Administration does not look like it is on top of the situation...but it is certainly critical of those working on the problem (as usual). What is the government doing to HELP without criticism?

BP is certainly not guilt free but it serves their best interests to take care of this situation as quickly as possible.

It serves Obama’s best interests to make sure it hurts as many people as possible, as badly as possible, for as long as possible.

One of the parish presidents had suggested that a sand berm be built outside the barrier islands to stop the oil from getting in the marshes. The Corp of Engineers and the EPA are ‘studying the enviornemental impact’ of the plan. Duh!! What is a worse impact? Millions of gallons of oil in the fragile marshes or dredging the sea floor to block the oil?

Reagan was right; all too often government is the problem.

One of the scientists that was on the team to figure out the best way of dealing with this was kicked off the team due to his feelings opposing homosexuality.

The feds have also forced BP to stop spreading a certain dispersant.

If you've read my other posts, you know I'm no Obama fan. However, to blame Obama for the events leading up to and after the BP blowout is kinda pot-kettle-black. Indeed, perhaps the only thing Obama has ever done right was to open the US to offshore drilling again. I hope he does the same for ANWAR, too. The fact that BP screwed up is just that, and they should be held responsible for it and pay for its clean up. My guess is that Obama could speed up that process by levying a $100,000/day fine for each day it's not capped, but to call off all offshore drilling is a long run mistake.

For goodness sake.. this leak has been poisoining the gulf for over a month now. The effects on ocean life will be devastasting and all anyone cares about is not fixing the problem but making sure the blame properly laid at someone’s doorstep. Lets stop the leak then then worry about whose fault it is.

C'mon! Go ahead and say it. It fits here.

No?

Then I'll do it for you: Obama, this is your TAR BABY!

Relax, since race now determine limits on speech, I'm in the clear :-)

“Obama’s decision to allow BP to take the lead on plugging the pipe”

What do they want? A Department of Pipe Plugging?

Right there is the whole story of Zero and Congress the hypocrite finger wagging dictatorship. They would not go there with their boots to get dirty. They would not fudge pack each other in public, yet want people to fudge pack each other by government fiat force, all as to create backlash, hate and division.

This is a pedophile, child labor, people enslavement program of the hypocrite fascist communist intellectual class: oh, the peasants should be forced to fudge pack each other and care for Gaia by leacking the ground for us, while we all sit in our ivory towers of puritanisticoid intellectualism, cowards, and devoid of courage.

The only reason Christians reject homosexuality and Earth cults is verily because they are willing to sacrifice their bodies before they would ever have to burden anyone with their decaying bodies. But that is not so with current fudge packing enforcing clean hands intellectual class of DC. They want their stem cell research and their exploitation without having the devotions themselves.

Liberals are going to have to wake up and realize that they are about to be "desegragated" by force in a very nasty way. It's good to hear that Matthews and Carville are realizing it.

The Carvile’s have relocated to New Orleans. I suspect they have a monetary interest there and that is the basis for their bashing of Obama.

If they didn’t live there they would never be blaming anyone other than Bush.

I still don’t understand exactly what the federal government can really “do” here with BP doing everything it has been doing?

Oh, trust me, they can blame Bush. Why? Because Halburton is involved.

My sister and I were discussing this earlier this week.
This is why the MSM has backed off this story a LOT!

I’d love to see this bring O down, but I’d rather this spill never have happened to begin with.

Just watch.
After the oil has completely rolled in, they will give permission to dredge!
