I guess that gives you a conundrum about where to put the pistol. That rules out the purse, at least until the children are old enough to understand not to treat it as grab bag any more. (Maybe a different grab bag could be substituted so there is still a place to put fun treats from time to time. While your purse will henceforth only contain boring things like tampons, credit cards, and lipstick.)

Honestly, with kids around, I probably won't feel safe unless it's on my person via holster, yanno? My kids are well behaved and don't give me any trouble but it only takes one time. But you made a good suggestion. Thanks.

My husband gave me a heart attack this past week. I knew that he was going someplace that he couldn't take his carry weapon (elementary school) but it wasn't in it's "spot." (He always keeps it in one particular spot.) We've got our kids and all the little neighborhood kids coming over to play and I like to know where it is when it's not on him. I was like, "Where is it???" He had put it in a different spot and I had to remind me that I couldn't keep it safe if I didn't know where it was and if I needed to use it against an intruder at home, it won't do me any good if I couldn't find it. lol
