“He’s like Ralph Kramden in the Honeymooners, when caught in one of his many misstatements: “hommina-hummina-hommina-hummina”...

Sorry, them’s the facts.”

I agree. Rand Paul made a terrible mistake, he tried to go for an ideological debate with liberals. Liberals don’t debate, and they don’t respect opposing viewpoints. Paul gave the smear machine ammo. The SCM has been on this non stop. Morning Joe basically dedicated their morning show to this.

I believe Rand Paul is correct in this instance. Philosophically, I agree with him. But when he thought he was debating ideas, he actually picked a fight with a evil, desperate opponent.

Just thinking maybe its time we start a fight with these folks. Just to run away from it .... not working so well.

Yes--Paul was naive thinking he could talk in abstractions about libertarianism and not have it used as a "gotcha"--it made me mad. I'm hoping he takes a serious lesson from this, not to maunder and blather about. This is one of the things that irritates me about doctrinaire libertarians who are a little too in love with the idea of themselves as libertarian.

McConnell is probably enjoying a good laugh, and laughing best.

As for where the talking points originate, try Rahm Emmanuel or John Podesta instead of the DNC. That's where the real spin starts.
