More than 350 immigrant detainees in the greater Los Angeles area are jailed while fighting deportation, according to the federal government.
A report by latimes.com reveals that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is litigating for the right of detainees held for six months or more to have hearings on whether they can be released from custody while their cases roll through the system.
U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement lawyers continue to oppose the bond hearings.

100% HAVE BROKEN THE LAW! THEY ARE HERE ILLEGALLY!
They are still serving sentences aren’t they. Why would you release them until a hearing?
Because they won’t show up.
My suggestion is to deport them and then let them sue to get back.
Wow, they’ve actually rounded up a whopping 350, in a city with probably around 1,000,000 illegals at least.
If they are in jail, it means they have committed additional crimes as well, instead of just border jumping.
It's a positive start.
Or maybe these inmates have misplaced their Mexican identity papers.
I’m sick of these BASTARDS!! If we could, 350 bullets would solve the problem with NO repeat offenders!
If requested, I’m sure that Arizona could supply 350 illegals to keep the LA street population of illegals up to snuff while LA decides what to do with the ones in jail.
Grab ‘em by the ass and throw ‘em over the border.
Their crimes must be fairly minor if deportation is a top concern, and they're already involved in fighting it instead of worrying about long prison terms.
STOP GIVING OUR TAX DOLLARS TO THE ACLU——NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
