Tensions between the Obama administration and the scientific community over the gulf oil spill are escalating, with prominent oceanographers accusing the government of failing to conduct an adequate scientific analysis of the damage and of allowing BP to obscure the spill’s true scope.
The scientists assert that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other agencies have been slow to investigate the magnitude of the spill and the damage it is causing in the deep ocean.

No one has been asking why we don’t have a crisis response plan for spills the same way we do for forest fires, and if we do, why it isn’t front and center and being discussed.

Well they must be right because “scientists” can do no wrong on the global warming, er, climate change, front so they must be right about everythng.
Let’s see...a guy how has never held a real job in his life...never run so much as a lemonade stand, who is surrounded by people who, like him, also have never had a real job...and so far the only thing he has done is blame Bush, Cheney, the oil companies, and of course, propose a TAX....
I’ll always remember Rear Admiral Mary Landry of the Coast Guard coming on the day after the sinking saying something along the lines of “There appears to be no oil spilling from the well. We’ve got unmanned robots surveying the site and as best we can tell, there’s no evidence of oil spilling out.”

There is also oil dispersant stockpiled for use in the Gulf. It is being used for this spill.
Of course, the envirowackos are screaming about the harm the dispersant causes.
For the most part I suspect this article has a two part agenda. One, the dam seems to breaking on the support for the maoist and two they want more blame on BP in order to push for greater monetary punishment.
Nationalization may be behind the bashing of BP but they are not an American company so beyond the maoist’s reach.

Do your own search. There are local, regional and an older 10-year plan for a major spill in the Gulf. BP had to file a "worst-case" plan before they could start this well.
Bottom line, there are numerous plans and only BP and the states are following theirs. The feds appear to have done nothing.
Other than absorbing the money for the oil containment booms into their campaign coffers.
What do they expect??? Obie has been a busy man, blasting AZ’s new law while sucking up to China and Mexico.
