It's probably no surprise that Sir Paul McCartney, a longtime vegetarian, banned all meat from staff meals on his current world tour. But when Mario Batali starts to push people to eat their vegetables, you know something is happening.

For an eye-opening look into the world of vegetarianism, try reading THE VEGETARIAN MYTH by Lierre Keith. Keith followed an activist vegan life style for twenty years until it almost killed her. The book is not only autobiographical, but as she tells her story, she systematically demolishes the myth that such a diet can “feed the hungry, honor animals and save the planet.” I don’t totally agree with her view of modern agriculture. However, it is a very interesting read!
