I assumed they were kind of nutty at first as well but having followed it they seem to be quite normal people. Most were gainfully employed and without police records of any kind.
Well, I didn’t mean “nutty” in any malign kind of way. They seem to want to be prepared in case the Antichrist comes along and the events at the end of the world take place.
I always used to quote the Bible verse where Jesus describes the end and then says, “No man knows the day nor the hour thereof.” So, no use guessing.
And I once spent some time researching the millennial fervor around 1000 AD, which of course proved premature.
But I must say, after watching Obama and his goons for a year, I’m a lot more ready to say that the end times might be upon us any day now. There are Iranian clerics who think that Obama is the promised figure who will precede the Mahdi, who from our point of view might well be the Antichrist. Kind of a Muslim John the Baptist rakeoff.
So, maybe the Hutaree Militia are kind of sensible after all.
Your assumptions were based upon a willing media gasping for “official” government statement about their “case”.
I was inclined to think they too were fringe, but if not violent, have a 1st Amendment right to disagree with our government. and a 2nd Amendment right to possess firearms and ammunition.
The government had to paint this militia as threatening, bad, fringe, looney, and every other form of degradation and the media, and their consumers loved the spoon feeding of BS. We still have yet to see prosecution of the government’s version of a criminal organization.
And we will never hear a retraction.
