TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - As many as 85,000 illegal immigrants live in Indiana.
Arizona's new law makes it a crime to live in the U.S. illegally, directing police to verify folks legal status.
One Indiana Senator said he'll do the same in the Hoosier state if the White House won't.
But one local family disagrees, saying they've lived through tough U.S. laws to get from Mexico to Terre Haute.
"It took us a long process to get him legal here in the United States," said Patty Pineda of her husband Eduardo.
Patty and Eduardo met when they both worked in Florida's watermelon fields, she from the U.S., he from Mexico.

Tear jerking story/s but come in through legal channels no excuse.
Enforce the law.

Correction. It has ALWAYS been a crime to live in the U.S. — and most other sane countries— illegally. The new law merely enforces it.
Huh? It's a violation of federal law to be here illegally. Cops just aren't able to enforce it, what with the last four presidents being open borders globalists.
This is an example of someone going to a lot of trouble to become legal citizens and then asking for it to be made easier for all the ones who come after them.
People say that legal immigrants don’t like the illegals, but I find that hard to believe. I think most are like this couple, they think it’s terrible what they went through and they don’t want their friends and family to go through the same thing.
Maybe we should just open the border completely for them. Let as many come in as want to.
How can you have a country if you have no border?
The law needs to be enforced.
Ping!
