Premiums will only go down if:

1) Repeal the federal ban on interstate sales of insurance. Need to have minimum standards nationwide.

2) Have competitive open market in health care that puts patients and their doctors at the center - not employers, not insurers, and not government agents.

3) Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, three giant entitlements, are out of control. Possibly no alternative but to cancel them for anyone under the age of 55. Those under 55 must choose to either stay with the historic system or opt into the Congressional system (you know the one Congress keeps for themselves) for healthcare and retirement.

4) Healthcare tax credits that benefit every American (if we keep the current Income Tax system).

5) strict audit procedures to ensure that the abuses of medicare and current healthcare initiatives such as double billing, billing for services ‘not’ received are stopped. Heavily fined on first occurrence and jail time on second occurrence, possible loss of licenses at 2nd occurrence.

6) Quite possibly some cost controls on what would be allowable charges must be delineated nation-wide. Allowable charges by doctors and hospitals and other providers. (still working this out)

7) High risk pools, if and when needed, can be maintained and overseen by the individual states. Maybe exchanges with some method for the State to subsidize (maybe like workman’s compensation). There must be a limit on how much over market rate it would cost (so health care would not be out-of-reach or cost prohibitive and death was not the guarantee).

8) There should be no individual mandates. If younger people prefer not to buy that would be their decision and their risk (no state or federal assistance afterward).

9) There should be no pre-existing conditions on entry into this new system. (certain high risk individual could go into the pools in #7)

10) Federal tax dollars would not subsidize this plan or doctors or hospitals.

I really do not see rates going ‘through the roof’ cause there is no evidence that that would happen. That is your opinion, it maybe correct I do not know, because I haven’t found and you haven’t cited any historical incident that would prove it beyond conjecture.

We, Congress, must also repeal the Snake Oil salesman’s recently force feed Obamacare.

What is the answer, I do not know. But at least I am willing to talk. To put ideas out there contrary to the Obamacare Frankenstein Guaranteed Budget Buster and Deficit Maker.

The people need to talk, then hopefully with a vehicle like the Tea Party (if not it specifiably) will make the grass roots drive that will bring it to the attention and consciousness of the people. Just as the Tea Party did with Tax Day.
