Maybe he meant he sued Vietnam on behalf of the troops.

Maybe he was in Cambodia with Kerry that Christmas.

Former FReeper and now deceased TexasCowboy was a Vietnam War era Marine.

He always made it damn clear that he didn’t serve IN Vietnam.

I’m of the opinion that this is an unfair attack on Blumenthal. It’s a gotcha.

There are many jaded freepers that want to use any and all, fair and unfair, attacks on their opponents.

I look at new stories for truth and spin. When I encounter opinion, I try to analyze the validity rather than the effectiveness of the argument. I guess I’m naive, but I think truth and intent matter.

Watching MSNBC talking about the Arizona bill, a guest mentioned that you had to have a birth certification and other documentation for simply looking Mexican. The moderator and other guest didn’t bash an eyelid. This talking point is effective, but false on two counts. I don’t accept this kind of trash from the left, why should I take it from the right?

This is not a pattern for Blumenthal. Changing one word from “in” to “during” makes it all go away. Your saying that one word, spoken one time, should automatically disqualify him? One word, spoken one time, and he looses? This is just plain silly and I find it distasteful even if it might be effective.

Kerry lied, Clinton lied, Harkin lied. Blumenthal either lied or misused one word one time. To jump to lie is pure politics since it’s not a pattern.

I love the part where he said people spit on him when he came back from Vietnam. The real vets will take him apart.

Finding out more information, I must withdraw my objection. Blumenthal is a lying POS. There is a pattern of playing fast and loose with the truth. “In Vietnam” was repeated several times. “when we returned from Vietnam” was used as well. He never sought to correct the record when it was incorrectly reported and he has tried to take credit and prestige from those sacrificed. This speaks of character and Blumenthal’s is seriously lacking.
