Once again this article is skewed to make the authors point

Does anyone here ever read the whole quote ...I saw it and heard it and Laura Bush was well balanced in what she said...

LB: " I mean I think we have to have immigration laws and that's just a really important part of it. "

ie she agrees with the law ...the need for law

She goes on to talk about the debate ...and that goes to both sides....The Libs are inflaming the debate....and she doesnt like it

then she talks about the history of groups (the Irish etc ) the Irish came here legally as did all other groups.

She is right

All she is saying is talk about the need to follow the law and shut up about Mexicans/ Hispanics etc ............Its good advice.

the stupidity on this site about this issue is over the top.

I did not read the quote.

My post was about "ganga" vs "Ganja".

So here is what Laura Bush said:

Well, not necessarily, I mean I think we have to have immigration laws and that's just a really important part of it. It's just that the debate about immigration laws, about Arizona's law in targeting someone, a group of people, and this is not new in American history. There have been many groups of immigrants who have been targeted over all of our history, the Irish for instance, when a lot of Irish immigrants, including my family, came to the United States [and] other times, and it's just a trace of Nativism that shows up in American history in a lot of different ways.

If you can't see that she is basically calling the law a bad one because the end result is that it picks on hispanics and that our nation has this problem with "Nativism", then it's not FreeRepublic that is "stupid", but your comprehension skills are lacking.
