Woo-Hoo!!

Four F-14B Tomcats, assigned to the "Swordsmen" of Fighter Squadron Three Two (VF-32), perform a diamond formation fly-by at the conclusion of Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) fly-off aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The current underway-period marks the final time the F-14 Tomcat will take part in flight operations while embarked aboard Truman. VF-32 will shortly begin the process of transitioning to the newer F/A-18F Super Hornet. Truman is currently conducting carrier qualifications and operations off the East Coast and is also participating in a Joint Task Force Exercise (JTFEX) with USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). JTFEX is a key component in the training cycle of an aircraft carrier and carrier air wing in the U.S. Navy Fleet Response Plan. Spent three years at New River fixing their copiers as a contractor. Neat place. Scary to see those choppers all ripped apart though in the hangers though.

Lance Cpl. Rory MacEachern, a military policeman with Combat Logistics Battalion 6, 1st Marine Logistics Battalion (Forward) has perfected his hobby as a bagpipe musician over the course of 13 years. The North Attleboro, Mass., native began playing at the age of 7-years-old and has performed during a multitude of festivals and other social events, including the Toby Keith concert aboard Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan May 5. Just a week after being knocked unconscious by a blast from in improvised explosive device, Cpl. Jason Ducote, a squad leader with 3rd Platoon, India Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, is recovering at Camp Leatherneck's Wounded Warrior Detachment, and looks forward to returning to his men. While leading a patrol in northern Marjah, May 4, the Reidsville, N.C., native found himself just inches away from an improvised explosive device. In an instant, Ducote threw a fellow Marine in a ditch and out of harm's way, and without disregard for his own welfare, got back up, yelling to his Marines to fall back, when the IED exploded.
